File Destruction
A file destruction is applied for via the arresting police service and addresses non-conviction information that the police have on file, for example withdrawn or dismissed charges. A destruction request cannot be completed if there are convictions on your record as a pardon is needed in that circumstance. A destruction should remove all fingerprints, photographs, and disposition documents, so that like a pardon, the information is not a part of the public record or revealed on criminal record checks. Each police jurisdiction has different procedures in place for destruction requests, and we will navigate these requirements for you.
